FVF Expands Internal Office Recycling
Employees Collect Discarded CD's and DVD's for Local Recycling Center

In a continuing effort to move towards more sustainable business practices, the employees at FVF have added old or used CD’s & DVD’s to their internal office recycling program. In addition to the commonly recycled paper, newspaper, cardboard, plastic, glass, etc; our firm also currently recycles old or used computer monitors and computer components. With the addition of CD’s and DVD’s, which we use on a regular basis, we are that much further in reducing what we send to local landfills.
When it comes to burning CD’s and DVD’s, it is often the case that some will become corrupted and never even get the chance to be used, creating additional unnecessary waste. Recycling those and other used discs allows us to alleviate that waste. We also encourage our staff to bring in discarded discs from home, giving them an opportunity for additional recycling usually not offered by their local recycling pick-up services. We see this as an extension of our responsibility as architects to the sustainability of our natural and built environment.
We encourage everyone to take the time to investigate local recycling services in their community to help reduce landfill contributions everywhere.
